Fi Dog Supplement Recall: Possible Salmonella Contamination (2026)
The supplements have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella due to a contaminated ingredient supplied to Fi's manufacturer.
What to do
- 1Check the bottom or side of your container for the lot number and UPC, then compare them against the two recalled products listed on this page — either code on its own can help identify the product, but match what you can find.
- 2Stop using the product immediately if it matches a recalled lot.
- 3Seal the container tightly and dispose of it in the household trash — do not leave it accessible to pets or other people.
- 4Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling the container, any surfaces it touched, and after cleaning up pet waste.
- 5Monitor your dog for signs of Salmonella infection and contact your veterinarian if your dog has consumed the recalled product and shows any symptoms.
- 6Contact Fi at 1-888-434-3647 or support@tryfi.com with questions about the recall or to report a concern.

What happened
On September 3, 2026, Fi (operated by Vet Plus, Inc., of New York, NY) announced a voluntary recall of two dog supplements — Fi Calming Supplement for Dogs 180 g and Fi 8-in-1 Formula Supplement for Dogs 180 g — because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The contamination is traced to an ingredient supplied to Fi's manufacturer, which has suspended production while it investigates.
The recalled products were sold directly to consumers and through online retailers Amazon and Chewy.com. Fi states it is notifying all affected customers directly. No illnesses in animals or humans have been reported in the announcement.
Salmonella poses a risk both to dogs that eat the product and to people who handle it or come into contact with animal waste afterward. The risk to humans is higher if hands are not thoroughly washed after touching the product, surfaces it contacted, or pet waste. This makes safe handling and disposal important steps for every household with the recalled supplements.
Dogs infected with Salmonella may show lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting; some show only decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy dogs can also carry and spread the bacteria to other animals or people without appearing visibly ill.
Consumers with questions can reach Fi at 1-888-434-3647 (7 days a week, 10 am–8 pm ET) or by emailing support@tryfi.com. Adverse events can also be reported to FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine at www.fda.gov/reportanimalae.
